TimeGate 2014, the Doctor Who (& more) annual convention, is taking place in Atlanta, GA, USA, over the Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd-25th. Please check out the site for a list of guests, events, hotel and travel info, memberships, and more, here: http://timegatecon.org/

If you find yourself feeling a little overwhelmed by the throngs of people at the big cons like SDCC and Dragoncon, please consider attending TimeGate. :) However, just because the con is smallish, doesn't mean that there isn't plenty to do! We have seven tracks of programming! Also: major events, with the con's guests, in the Main Ballroom, several rooms for gaming, a wonderful consuite, photo opps and autographs with the guests, an even larger dealers' room this year, fan tables, performances (musical and theatrical), a charity cabaret, a masquerade, and more.

One of the tracks, or portals as we call them at TimeGate, is the Wardrobe Portal, which is mostly about costuming/cosplaying in the Who'verse. The DW track is the Gallifrey Portal, which has the major guest events in the Main Ballroom, in addition to the fan panels in the track room.

Memberships are only $45 through May 1st; afterwards, they are $60 at the door. Check the website for member registration:

See everyone at TimeGate 2014!

The rules over at whoiconsearch have been revised so that you can now search for any lost piece of Whoverse art, be it an icon, banner or wallpaper. So if you are looking for that perfect Jack/Ianto banner, or if you've got a gorgeous Ianto icon but don't know who to credit then come on over to whoiconsearch. You can even request custom icons and other pieces of artwork.

Find the new rules here or on the profile page.

Have you spent hours looking for an icon from a certain episode of Doctor Who but can't find one you like?

Do you remember seeing a specific Doctor/Rose icon but can no longer find it?

Or do you have a Martha icon and you don't know who to credit it to?

Sound familiar? If so then whoiconsearch is the comm for you.

For more details please see the comm profile.

Hello,

I'm looking for someone that's into the Doctor Who fandom and plays a Meta-Crisis Tenth Doctor. I could do a PSL but it's mostly for a game. Please PM for more details. Thank you.

Alright, so my boyfriend & I celebrated our second Christmas together today (yes, I realize it's a few days before Christmas, but we're both clogged up with family obligations from now until then), and.. Bless his beautiful little heart, he didn't buy me a DVD set, an action figure, a book, or a tshirt.

No, he built me a mini TARDIS to store things in.

Crappy Blackberry pictureCollapse )

Mods, I have no idea what to tag this as? I'm sorry.

Which Doctor, when and where, said the following:

"Imagine if you can, silver leaves waving above a pool of gold filled with singing fishes. Twin moons in an alien sky. If you like, I'll show them to you, and they will be, I promise you, the dullest part of the journey. Come with me and I will show you sights that you have never dreamed of. Or stay behind & regret it until your dying day."

For some reason, I'm thinking that it was said by the First Doctor, but that's been called into question. Virtual brownies (my fav thing to bake) to anyone who can tell me which Doctor, and gives the source as well.

Hi everyone - I have a query. Do any of you have any idea whether Silva Screen are set to release another DW soundtrack this year, following on from their releases over the last two? Their Torchwood one is out on the 22nd IIRC, but if I'm honest a Who one would be more exciting. Also, which pieces from the last year would you like to see included?

Any ideas? Thanks!

Just a little heads up to UK viewers - Amazon.co.uk is selling the Doctor Who New Series boxsets at a rather more reasonable price than normal:

Series One is selling for £27.98, 60% off RRP; Series Two is at £37.98, 46% off RRP, Series Three is going for £39.98, 43% off RRP, and the preorder for Series Four is currently at £52.50, 25% off.

It's also worth noting that Amazon.com appears to be the boxsets at $74.99 apiece, except the preorder of S4 which is at $64.99.
